I've spent my career on both sides of the interview.

I started as a journalist, reporting for CNN, Current TV, Pseudo.com, and other outlets, covering breaking news, interviewing newsmakers, and helping pioneer interactive online media.

As a communications executive, I've advised CEOs, founders, physicians, policy experts, and advocates on how to communicate with confidence, prepare for high-stakes interviews, and navigate moments when every word matters.

I've led media strategy for organizations across healthcare, public affairs, technology, transportation, entertainment, and advocacy, securing earned media in virtually every major U.S. news outlet.

Recognition

I’ve won an Emmy Award and a Peabody Award and traveled as a selected fellow with the U.S.-Spain Council Young Leaders Program.

Pseudo

Pseudo.com was the world's first interactive Internet television network, and I was an Electronic Jockey (EJ), hosting three hours of live programming every day.

I covered the Republican National Convention from Pseudo's skybox overlooking the convention floor, anchored Democratic National Convention coverage from New York, and reported from the South Carolina presidential primary.

The Boston Globe and The Washington Post profiled Pseudo's convention coverage, and the cameras used at the Republican National Convention are now part of the Smithsonian's collection.

Jacki Schechner on the Inside the Blogs set at CNN

In 2005, CNN Washington Bureau Chief David Bohrman asked me to come to DC from New York to help figure out how to cover political blogs on television. That afternoon, I became the first-ever Internet Correspondent in cable news.

We launched a daily segment called Inside the Blogs on Judy Woodruff's Inside Politics, reporting on conversations across the political blogosphere. Every story was independently reported and verified before it made air.

When Inside Politics was canceled, we became part of the team launching The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Inside the Blogs became The Situation Online and expanded beyond political blogs to broader internet coverage.

The work helped establish a model for incorporating online reporting into television news. Today, it's standard across broadcast, cable, and streaming.

Current TV

David Bohrman brought me to Current TV in Los Angeles to deliver live political news updates every hour during The Bill Press Show and The Stephanie Miller Show.

I became a regular contributor on The Stephanie Miller Show, co-hosted the network's convention and election coverage, and appeared on other Current programs as a healthcare reform expert.

Al Jazeera acquired Current TV in 2013 and shut down the network's original programming.

After Current TV closed, I continued as a weekly guest on The Stephanie Miller Show, providing political and healthcare analysis. I also became a regular on Tell Me Everything with John Fugelsang and co-hosted The WonkyDonk with Hal Sparks. I stepped away from on-air commentary when I joined Planned Parenthood Los Angeles in 2020 to avoid any potential conflict of interest.
